Hard to believe that this vehicle was on the cover of a magazine, Some of the ink rubbed off the cover of my copy before I had a chance to read the article. sure sign there was going to be trouble
with the build. It still photograghed well. It was a sunny day,
JPS plastic coupes melt in rain.....lol

Good Luck on the refit Tom, You guys all show courage repairing the nightmare and someday ----nobody will remember

Yeah, for wires and tins. I could scratch, if there's a better day. If I'm going to cut tins, I'll need some help with making templates. My schedule has me working 13 and 14 June and again on the 18th and 19th -- so there are several alternate dates available for me. Alan said something about passing through that way, too. No finger on his timeline, though.
I think we're all waiting for the engine to arrive.
Teresa is in the Big Apple for a while with work, and I'm on standby. It's Tom's show.
Meanwhile, I've parked for a brake changeover from discs to drums in the back. The Hoopty won't be making the trek unless it's a few weeks from now.
I'm pretty sure grease coming out of these hairline cracks means I have a full-thickness fracture around the press-fitting in the center of the assembly.
In English, I think I've about driven the wheels off my car. Reports from the Spyder side seem to tell me that the crack comes from the tophat through the aluminum and that it's only a matter of time before the axles spin themselves right out of the center. I'll be reverting to drums so this'll never happen again.
I really don't know what CB could do to make them differently, except maybe make the whole works out of steel. Carey gave me some skinny on all-steel replacements, but this works for now.
It's not costing me anything, and the drums will be fine for street driving.
