If I decide to do this I'll use Gordon's nice instructions posted here.

My question--anyone ever pulled the canvas material out of the bow and re-glued it after pulling it tighter? Did it stay tighter?

I'm going to replace the rubber weatherstrip I have in my bow plus add a third, center latch.

Is this a waste of time or aworthwhile project?]

Gettin'ready for the "Tail of the Dragon" event two weeks away WOOO HOOO!!!

I have been told (although I have no corroborating evidence) that, once the top material stretches out, it usually stays that way for the most part, so pulling it back and re-positioning it should be OK.

I've done the soak-and-let-dry-in-the-sun routine several times to no avail....

Mine is stretched out so far, now, that it looks like a high bow when I get on a turnpike and when it's sitting still it looks pretty droopy, to say the least. But, to give it all credit, it probably has 15,000 miles on it at 70+mph and at least a quarter of that time was in a downpour!!

See you at the Tally Ho!

Yeah Gordon---I'm really looking forward to the Dragon Run. My wife, Alice will join me and I pretty sure my son, Russ will to.

Driving back fron Carlilse took it's tool on my top. Driving 70-75 with the windows in, made Bernoulli's effect display itself in all it's glory and my top was pulled up tightly. Great for inside comfort
but that really stretched the top. I'll start the project tomorrow. I have the "latest and greatest" bow rubber so we'll see. That "original Speedster" bow rubber was not a good fit at all. Much too thick.

Will give a report after I'm finished. I was glad to hear you say that once stretched it tends to not stretch any more.
