This was my first CMC build some ten years ago, a few owners later it's back up for sale. ~Alan

Alan--still looks good and holding it's value.
Another "resale red" I see.
Hey, what is that round thingee between the alternator and the fan?

Jack,
Not sure which ppart you mean, there is the plastic piece on the alt. pulley and the red backing plate that bolts to the fan shroud.

I like the rims better

This one must have been pretty close to a catch-and-release, huh?
I've been looking this car over the last couple of weeks. But I find myself being a bit hesitant.
One question I have is the rims. On my old build (and not a very good build at that) I had a '72 pan with 5 lug rims. Since the older pans have 4 bolts I would get a ton of knocking out of the wheels and performance was really degredated (not to mention loud and annoying). The mechanic I was using at the time wasn't aware of any kind of adapter that would bridge the 4 bolt chassis to the 5 bolt rims.
Anyone have any insight on this? I'd hate to spend another $20k only to have to put in another $10-15k on repairs to keep it on the road.
Otherwise it looks like a really good looking ride.

Jim,
Stand by I have another just completed unique street rod styled guards red flared speedster that will be done available next week.
It was at Carlisle but not quite done.

Good talking with you~
You too, I'll call you on Thursday.
Methinks the Good Doctor is about to have yet another happy customer.
I saw this car at Carlisle, Jim. You won't be disappointed.

Ran 150 highway miles today other than the speedo being off ( aren't thay all) no issues what so ever!
Congratulations Alan! While not my style, I absolutely appreciate the workmanship and the originality.
Somebody is going to be smilin' from ear to ear when that car gets delivered to them.

Thanks Bob, The speedy got lots of kudos at the Great Race venues in Chambersburg and Hershey PA yesterday.
I'll vouch for Alan's Guards red beauty. Sweet ride.
But as to his question on speedometers: Mine seems to be dead steady and within 1 mph at 65.
It's from a '72 bug.

That totally has to do with what you are running for wheels and tires versus what the Repro speedo is expecting to see with the gearing that was installed in it.
Pretty much a crap shoot.
Pretty much a crap shoot.
I don't fret about speedometer accuracy because it seems that I'm always cruising at just the right speed.
