Clearly the flared preference is in the minority and the standard bodies are very nice, but I'll take the super wide flared body any day of the week!

The CMC flared version used value tends to be about 1/3 less than a stock style, the exception is the VS super flared style which retains the same value as the stock style. ~Alan
No Ernie, Porsche never built a flared 356. I'm pretty sure that CMC originated the look, but Vintage refined it. In my opinion, a flared Speedster is the car Porsche should have built as a follow up to the, classic and beautiful, standard body speedster.

Boby, There's an advantage to the flares in that you can put much wider tires on them. Those of us who have the narrower cars have to do suspension and/or axle changes to accomodate more rubber.

Yes Cory, that is the 901 badge on my hood. I wasn't too sure it was going to mount flush because of the curve of the hood on the speedster compared to the realtively flat hood of the newer Porsches. It turned out to mount perfectly without any modification. By the way, I love what you did with the "Hoopty"...it's a beautiful car!
Alan. No question about it, your work with the CMC cars is the best! My favorite is the white one. Can't wait to see what you do with the newest one.
We took the Speedster up to Yosemite National Park on Memorial Day weekend and it was a spectacular drive. Only about 100 miles from my front door. Maybe some year we could hold the yearly meeting up here at Bass Lake and make some runs into the park. I can just picture a long line of Speedsters and Spiders coming out of the tunnel that over looks the Yosemite Valley floor. What a video that would make!
