Is it correct that you can't buy the gasket between the carburetor top of the Weber IDF to the float bowl (body) by itself. Rather you have to buy the complete rebuild kit? I just need the gasket but not the other parts. Besides replacing the gasket is there any other method to repair the gasket that I have?

Any info appreciated.

Eddy, I'm speculating here.
I have never seen a carb rebuild kit sold in pieces from a vendor. It's generally the most obvious part of the rebuild that someone wants, so splitting a set deprives the vendor of revenue.
If you took the carb to someone and wanted a rebuild, they'd use the whole set because deterioration in a major seal or gasket probably indicates the rest of the assembly needs to be cleaned out.
I'd personally suggest rebuilding the whole thing, or at least replacing all the consumable paper and rubber parts, if you're going to do anything at all.
Otherwise, you'll wind up not using the majority of the kit -- but you'll probably have to buy the whole works anyway.
