Guys, anyone out there know the correction diameter of the fly wheel, I ordered replacement a Sebro Fly wheel that said it would fit, but not right. The original seems to measure about 10 7/8 including teeth, if you look on site, they dont give you the diameter, some say 200mm, but that alot smaller than the 10 7/8 which converts to 279mm ?

Uh. Pretty sure 200 (and 180) mm refers to the clutch disc and pressure plate sizes that fit. The flywheels are recessed for those elements and the tooth-to-tooth diameter is quite a bit larger—and pretty standardized (?) which is why you can hang a Type 1 or a Type 4 or any early Porsche pushrod (616) or 4-cam (547 or 692) on any early VW air-cooled transaxle.
^^^What Ed said^^^ The numbers (180, 200mm) refer to the clutch disc diameter, and as he also said, the outside diameters of a number of early Porsche flywheels, being the same as the VW Type 1 and 3, make it relatively easy to mate any early P engine to any VW Type 1 transaxle.
The flywheel DIAMETER and tooth count for the starter may be the same, but a 912 uses a 356 flywheel, not a VW. Yes, as stated, any number of engines and transmissions can be mated together.
Look for a 356 flywheel. Measure your clutch. A 356B 1960-1963 has a 180mm clutch, a 356C/912 clutch is 200mm and the flywheels are different.
It is possible your 912 has an earlier 356B clutch and flywheel...
