In my CMC there is a bulge in the fiberglass, on the bulkhead, near the pedal assembly, that I assume is for clearance of the underside of the gas tank. When I was pushing the car in the driveway the other day I hopped in to press on the brake and my size 12 shoe hit this bulge and I barely was able to hit the brake pedal in time. Any of you guys out there, with bigger feet, ever have any problems with foot comfort and this bulge while driving? If so what has remedied the situation?

P.S. I have suffered the agony of big feet jokes all my life, so sensitivity would be appreciated. ;o)

P.P.S. I don't think cutting off a few toes is the kind of answer I am looking for. :o)

you will get use to it, to have the shoe all the way down resting on the floor, but if ever it gets to be a problem I would suggest creating a little lower metal pan and weld it from the underside, extra room, like some vw pans are modified and lower for taller drivers where the seats mount to
if your bulge is too big as you enter the speedster, try
thinking about something like the irs or your mort. payment,
it works for me.

ps-i'm a size 12 too, in one of my previous cars [tvr 2500],
i couldn't wear boots or hard soled shoes, just narrow
style sneakers or similar.
-good luck big guy -those big feet never stopped fred flintstone-
couldn't resist
Yep, GM style tilt. The extra stalk on the steering column will not look original, but big, ummm, bellies will fit nicely. Being 5-5 1/2 and wearing a 7D, I think I'll have room to spare, but it might be nice to be able to adjust the wheel on the longer drives, like to Carlisle...... yeah! This is a standard feature on the SAW cars.
ah shucks, you can't see it in this shot.
So John..........What's with the BIG FAN there in your garage?

Can't get the car out on the road, so you turn on the fan, sit in the seat and have someone take a picture of the wind buffetting your hair????????

Hey! Speaking (or typing) of Buffeting, just heard today that venerable old Fenway Park in Boston (home of Red Sox Baseball to all you un-initiated) will be hosting its very first music concert this Summer - a Parrot-head concert with Jimmy Buffet!! Guess if they can't win the Series (EVER, it seems), they can at least host the Parrot-heads!!
Gordon,
It's Steve's shop, not my garage. My garage is much neater! Of course I haven't been building cars for over twenty years in it and I've only lived in my house for two years so Mr. Packrat hasn't finished his work yet. The SAW shop is not air conditioned and it does get hot in Tennessee. As far as the pictures with wind-blown hair are concerned, good idea. I'm going to surf the net for a good deal on big floor fan later today. Then again, maybe I should just get out and drive the sucker, which I hope to be doing soon. I'm starting to feel separation anxiety for Algebra.

Absolutely right, Glenn. If da boat be a rockin', then don't-cha bother knockin'. However Doctor David Rubin's book asserted many moons ago, in contradistinction to the current lexicon, that size doesn't matter. Bull Feathers! Did you ever go to the zoo and leave feeling inadaquate after witnessing a lowly tapir letting it all hang out? And he's only three feet tall.
