Howdy all.

I am wanting to install a diesel heater in my car so I can drive more through the year. I want to mount in the engine bay, and run ducts in the door sill and have the heat come out of floor vents. Like the fresh air vents. But I can't find the vents.

I am looking for the louvered vents that I have seen in some nice 356's.

any0ne know where to find them?

Thanks

Kent

If you have them, the floor vents should be in the frame rails along the sides just to the outside of your feet and just above floor level.  The heat on CMC and VS cars uses the frame rails along the body seam as air ducts.  Beck and IM have their heater outlets in about the same place, and there are two flexible ducts from behind the dash at about the tops of the doors over to the windshield dash vents.

The floor vent openings might be carpeted over, so try poking a nail or hand awl through the carpet about 2" above the floor along the middle of the side frame outboard from where your feet are and see if you find the holes.

What kind of diesel heater are you using and why are you going with diesel instead of regular gasoline?  Either will heat just as well, but you'll have to carry a small, extra diesel fuel tank if you go that route, whereas you already have a gasoline tank.

Just curious.
