Hi all SOC'ers.  I am going to put my car on eBay this week, but figured I would throw it out to the true enthusiasts on this site first to see if anyone had any interest in my car.

The car was brand new in 2013.  I have driven it approximately 3,000 miles.  The reason for selling is due to me actually being too big for this little car.  I can sit in the car comfortably, but I have a herniated disc in my back which at my current weight makes it difficult to get in and out of the car easily.  I am tipping in over 300 big ones right now and it just doesn't work right now with the existing back issue.  Why lose weight when I can just try to find a bigger car???

Here is a list of what I can think of that the car has for features and options:

-Color: Heron Grey Code POR 6007 ( this is a period correct color )

-Full leather interior: Color Toast with Coco Mats

-Haartz Stay Fast Top: Color Beige with Beige lining

-Roll Up power windows ( cranks that act as levers for power windows

- Honey Brown Carpeting

- Power Door Locks with remote keyless entry

Modern hot water based heating and defrosting with  fresh air , 3 speed fan

reproduction 356 typoe seats with headrests

-Am/FM Radio with CD/ipod player

- Nardi style wood  steering wheel.

- 3 point seat belts with retractors

-2 speed wipers

-3rd break light

-Air conditioning

- Marchall Fog / driving lamps

- Vetical style headlight grills

- Porsche 914 front suspension

-2500 Subaru Liquid Cooled fuel injected Engine 165hp

-"touring' 4 speed manual transimission,3.44: 1 final drive

Porsche front strut suspension with rack & pinion steering

- 4 wheel disc breaks

-Ceramic Coated Exhaust System, Bright Silver

-Independent rear suspension with trailing arms and torsion bars

-Performance tires, 185/65 HR-15 on 5 1/2 x 15'' wheels front/ custom widened 7' x 15' wheels back

Price: Looking for 65k.  Paid 72k and change.

This car runs like a brand new car modern day.  It's the old school look with the current day technology and piece of mind. It flies and is fun to cruise the back roads at 40 or the highway at 80mph.  I prefer cruising at 70 to 75 mph on the highway, but that's just me.

No specific Tall Person set up.  I am 6 feet tall and I sit on a 2 inch thick "a$$" cushion for my back issue and I have no problem with the height.  I had a 1995 911 convertible and ironically this car has a lot more room than that one.  Also, the fact that it is a Roadster D gives it a very high roof line  versus the speedster set up which is lower profile.

Tires are: Front 185/65 HR-15  Back: 205/60 HR-15

He doesn't?  At one time IM owners could consign their rides through Henry.

Henry took the cars in and charged a small percentage when the car sold.  That's how I bought mine, way back in 2000.

I am talking about advertising only.  He does not take the car in.  He places an add on the IM site with the owners contact info.  This is how I bought my car.  But he is always happy to talk with you about the history of the car.  He charges nothing for this.  I wish he would have taken my car in.  I'm sure Henry would have made sure the car was sorted for the new buyer.  This was not the case with my car.  I'm glad I got a good deal on my car since I have spent quite a bit to get it right.

Chris,so sorry that you have to sell the car. Having driven one of those I know what it is. I am prepared to trade : 2004 Tundra (very comfortable, and lots of records), 2003 Camry(also very comfortable), 2009 MX5, low mileage,( 30,000 miles, not comfortable but fun) 1955 VS replica, (new engine), a car trailer, and a Carolina Skiff / motor and trailer, (that ain't mine but she'll go for it).

Seriously, I wish you the best on your sale, and we know how hard it is to let one of these things go. I wish I could do it.   (but the offer stands)

I imagine bringing a US car back into Canada, so it can be sold to a US customer, would be a big hassle, since the car can not be sold and registered in Canada, unless it's 15+ years old.

Now that I think about it, the only used cars I've seen for sale at Henry's have been Canadian registered IMs.

Thanks for the compliments! I plan to put the car on eBay next week when i get back from my sons baseball tourney out of state....I also want to get some better pics... I am going to see if there are any enthusiasts that appreciate these cars like we soc guys do that happen to be crawling eBay... It will be a tough goodbye. I had a local gentleman come view and drive the car yesterday and I watched him leave and return in it and I have to say I never see someone else driving it.. It looked so nice driving down the road! I love the look of these  little tubs!!!!! If anyone is interested in the car please dialogue me....thanks

Is the top like this on all IMs or is it just this one?  It appears to be higher than the headrest and might even block the drivers view to the right rear.

We all like IMs, but the way this looks to me would rule it out if I was in the market.  With the high quality work that Henry does on his cars, it would seem to me he could easily do something about it.

For the vast majority of owners, not enamored with hauling around a tool kit and a bunch of spares, living in fear of rain, and living with chronic back pain at the end of a 500 mi trip, this car represents the ultimate solution.

There are a lot of guys who want a coupe after contending with a leaky speedster or two-- but coupe-like tightness with the ability to put the lid down seems like a much better solution for what these cars are all about. everybody likes how speedster seats look-- but I've sat in Intermeccanica roadster seats, and there is nothing like them anywhere. Everybody likes the mechanical rawness of an air-cooled engine-- but the reliability of a modern EFI engine cannot be overstated.

Good color combo, a fair price, and no waiting make this a really good deal for somebody.

Thank you Stan. I have had some interest locally. I actually took a deposit on the car a little over a week ago, but the gentleman who was interested had to rescind due to some Personal issues so I returned his check and wished him well. I am going to have my buddy put the car n a number of sites this week to see what happens.  I drove the car for about 3 hours  the other night and I have to tell you, it is a  true joy to drive. That was until my left let went numb due to my herniated disc issue.  I feel like I could have driven to CalifornIa in the car! It is such a solid feel and so dependable.  There is nothing like cruising in the hot

Weather at night. Even my wife didn't want the night to end.
