Hey, I thought this was sold on eBay last week? Deal fall through?
Hey Rich,
It's the same car. The eBay auction had 20 bidders, with 40 individual bids. The auction ended with the car selling with a winning bid $15,100.00.

Now the car is now for sale on Craigslist, The Samba, and here. The Craigslist didn't list a price. You can find the ad listed under in Phoenix. AZ with title: "1957 porsche speedster replica car awesome head turner very nice." There are more photos in there.

A few side shots. Looks like it's possibly a CMC/Fiberfab. This is also the car we saw a week or so ago, with the 'clear tail lights'.
Good looking car,
Ted
Good luck with the sale. It's a good looking car. Shouldn't have any issues selling it.
Ted
Had that happen to me. Why do people even bother...
I know, all it does is cost more money to relist the auction and someone has to screw it up. They do not even screen their bidders, I think I am done with ebay for now.
that's a shame... I was watching that eBay auction as I really like the car. It sold for a lot less than I thought it was going to go for. Someone blew it.
Mind if I ask how you were able to lower the rear that far without the typical "taco" look from the wheels? I LOVE how your car sits.
Well you can still make a realistic off if you are interested, lately I have been getting bombarded with emails and telephone calls about the car.
As for the way the car sits, that is why I myself feel in love with it and bought it. It is just cool to look at. I bought it that way from the previous owner and I was concernced that the "Negative Camber" was too far off and it would be like a typical swing axle on a baja bug. But the "Camber" is neutral and it handles and drives perfectly straight. I don't know what they did but it looks like a lowering kit as my speedster sits lower than anyone I have ever seen but it rides awesome and is hands down the best replica speedster I have ridden in. Plus it stops on a dime.
Hope this helps
Fireman:
Where did that Speedster emblem on the rear deck come from? Forgive my ignorance but I have never seen that before.
here was a little video on the freeway I took about a month or so ago

enjoy
I had a friend who visits Germany quite often and he got it for me.
The trailing arms would have had to be cut and rewelded to get the camber to neutral sitting that low.
I really don't know but I know that nothing has been cut on the car. I had it on a lift before I bought it because I wanted to make sure the floor pans where ok and there was no rust and again when I put the exhaust on so I know nothing has been "Cut" or "Hacked" on the car
Rusty wasn't implying that it had been "hacked" up. Cutting the trailing arms is pretty precise - most owners don't lower it where the camber is radically impacted due to cost of lowering it more (properly) is time consuming/costly. If done and you can't tell aftermarket welds from factory 40 year old welds then it was really professional work. There are lots of original welds on trailing arms.
This car seems to appreciate faster than Solyndra stock! Like $5k every week. Sounds like typical "My wife wants me to sell it - but I don't really want to my chick magnet".
