For sale 78 Porsche Targa donor car

Thinking of building a IM-6? Well I have the perfect donor car. A 95,592 original mile California original 1978 Porsche Targa (salvage title) that I have most of of the original service paperwork. 15K ago the motor was rebuilt at a cost of $16K. 2.5k ago the clutch was replaced at a cost of 2.4k. The trans was rebuilt 21k ago when the "top end" only was done and then the motor needed to be fully rebuilt at 80k.

Asking $10,000 for the whole car.

Or if you want to build a car I still have the 80 Targa (clean pink) I used as the donor car for my IM-6 you could rebuild using the motor, trans, suspension and all the goodies to make one good car out of two.

Too much power? Angela my dear yes you can have too much power. As you said if the chassis, air frame or other factors cannot handle the power then in the application at hand too much power is or can be a VERY bad thing. The trick is matching the power you have to all the other factors and being able to use everything you have to come up with the best result.

Kind of like a GeeBee. Way too much power and most pilots died because if it. The ones that flew the plane and walked away from a landing were lucky most times.

That 4 motor car "TV Tommy" ran NEVER worked very well but it sure looked cool and sold tickets. Everybody wanted to see it blow up!

BTW I waived on my way up north last weekend. Next time I hope to have more time and drop in on Bruce for lunch/dinner. Maybe you and Steve would like to join in?
