Need garage room. Making this available for a quick sale.
I picked this up from a real estate investor who found it in the garage of a foreclosed home. Someone spent some time building it, but never put it on the road. The running gear was complete when I got it. Starts quick and idles well. I added some door panels, and installed the lights, license plate bracket, turn signals, etc. (which were all brand new in a box.) It has IRS, sway bars, and brakes that look like they were installed and never driven. You can see from the photos of the equipment and undercarriage that it has not been on a road, but care was spent on assembly with nice touches such as steel-braided brake lines.
I’ve driven it for a few minutes, but nothing long term. Engine feels like a 1600 single-carb, but could be a 1776. It has a clear CA, 1970 VW title. Original black gel-coat could use a good cut and polish, but that’s out of my expertise. It has slight fracturing in the gel-coat around the nose, tried to show it in the picture as best as possible.
Looks to be a very solid build for someone who would like to tinker on a budget.
