I spoke with Tammy Doolittle this afternoon. She has had a recent family crisis, which is the reason for selling the car. For those who are interested:
I sold this speedster as a kit in late 2003. It was shipped to San Diego and assembled by Precious Metals, for the purpose of resale. The engine is a 1915cc built by Pat Downs of CB Performance. The transaxle is a stock 4:12 built by Rancho. The car was sold to a doctor in Mississippi, and then later purchased by the Doolittle's.
The color is called Racing Blue. The interior is balck leather, and the top is/was black (seriously faded). The car has an 1 1/2" custom made exhaust w/ j pipes.
There are no other options installed, that I know of. The spare tire is missing.
Tammy described the interior as being almost new. I do not see anything in the photos to say otherwise.
The paint was described as good, but not perfect. I have some close-up shots that I will be happy to e-mail to anyone who is interested. From the pictures: the car shows some rock chips on the nose and front bumper, but I would say nothing out of line for the age of the car. There are a few small scratches here and there. One on the bumper, one on the door where someone missed with the side curtain.
Obviously I cannot make any mechanical determinations from here, but it was described to me as running and driving PERFECT. Cold natured on the cold mornings, but what 44 Webs w/o chokes aren't? Recent oil change, carb sync and valve adjustment by a local dune buggy shop.
I was e-mailed some photos that I will attach.
All in all, I'd say it sounds like a great deal for someone. For what it's worth, I have sold some parts to Tammy in the past and my dealings with her have been perfect.
