Does anyone know the history of this car?

It has been re-listed on Craigs List. The seller has a link which shows more photos, along with a CMC manual. Excuse me but I don't have any knowledge of replica kits but am learning alot from this site. Would this car be capable of being completed, are there still parts such as interior kits that would work for it. The price seems fair or is it a bum deal, there seems to be many CMC owners on this forum that could provide input as to what it would take to put this together. Or would it be more cost effective to buy in used and complete and running in the 15-20k range.

looks like a good deal to me. Most parts are avalible. I'm in Having Vintage go through my CMC right now, new tranie, engine, paint, misc. trim pieces. My upolstery was done by JPS before I bought it. It should look like new in about 2 weeks. You could buy a complete one for 12-15,000 but you might not be happy with the finish and have to redo most things this one needs anyway. Do it the way you want, Talk to Kirk at Vintage, he is a real help and a great guy!
Good deal - just the body with all the trim pieces (no chassis or wheels, title or any assembly other than doors hung) was $7000-8000 back in 1989 - plus $1000-1400 to ship. It doesn't look like it was molested at all. You can polish out the red gel coat and save $2k not having it painted (if you like red). Easy to reupholster interior. Print off the build manual in library here to see effort required to finish it.
