Frankie Avalon Taking A Spin In "The Speedster" | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

A couple of weeks ago I was at a 50's charity event with Frankie Avalon as the "Honorary Chair" in Santa Paula. I was given the honor of giving Frankie a ride in my speedster to make his "Grand Entrance" as he made his way to the stage to sing a couple of songs.
Even the Speedster was a big HIT!!!!!

I remember Frankie Avalon singing "Venus" in 1959. I was an eighth-grader at Our Lady of Lourdes grammar school in Oakland. Joe Zotter's father, who owned the peep show downtown, provided transport for the basketball team and a few girlfriends in his 1958 Lincoln. You could have put a football team in that car.

A huge, dark car, Frankie singing Venus on the radio, and Joan VanAntwerp's hand on my leg, edging just slightly closer to forbidden territory. Oh man!! Can I hear a "halleluja"?
