Franz Filters on Porsche engines ??

I was thinking about the bypass filter typically mounted on the fan shroud. The question is: were all these made by Franz ? Or maybe by Mann too ? What made me wonder is i see that Sierra Madre Collection in Pasadena Ca. sells decals for both Franz and Mann. The Franz and the Mann look identical. Anyone have some historical info on this ?........Bruce

in the original spare part list from Porsche, the say, they used "Fram" and "Hengst" filters. See attachment position number 26

the housing was made by Fram.

by the way: The Fram Filters and housings are still available. Have a look on ebay.
