I had the unfortunate experience of buying a speedster GTR from Automotive Legends, Malibu, CA. First they led me to believe that they actually build the cars (really built by Vintage Speedsters), then they offered options that have never been fitted to the car (windscreen, rear sway bar, gas filled racing shocks). Then they told me they would register the car for me in Florida, when in fact the paperwork never left their office (10 weeks).
I would recommend anyone that wants the GTR to go directly to the source, Vintage Speedsters, you will probably save a bundle and be treated with professionalism and respect.
The owner (Wil Cashen) and his sales manager (Ross Malinger) are nothing but con-men and liars. They constantly lied to me about the car and the registration. I recently went to FL and registered the car in 20 minutes.
The also still owe me for the windscreen they never delivered ($368.).

And the beat goes on. I wonder how many 356 members have been scammed by these people. All they got me for was a nipple hubcap so I guess I'm lucky. Oh--I forgot the $40.00 1/2 oz bottle of touch up paint.

Still I am one of the lucky ones.

The poor guy who I bought my Sopeedster from paid almost $35,000 for a $25,000 car---not including the extra $1,500 badge package.

If anyone will do a search on them they will see a LOT of complaints and as far as I know not one single compliment.

Yes they WILL "service" you---if you get my drift.---Jack
Actually, I don't think Vintage builds the cars Automotive Legends sells. As I understand it Automotive Legends has purchased kits and components from various of the better known vendors. Then they farm-out assembly work to mechanics who have some spare time and want to fill it with work. I'm not sure that any of these assemblers work these deals with A.l. long enough to develop any expertise. This kind of arrangement probably works against anybody making a decent hourly wage. I think Fibersteel may be involved in some way. Maybe Automotive Legends would like to explain their approach here. Then again, they might just want to continue to be sort of an inigma.
From what I know, Bill George is jkust abour right as far as the cars AL sells. I would add that many if not nost of the cars are 100% Vintage built cars judging from ads om ebay and others I've seen. These have the dash material that stops a couple of inches from the end, the curly red wire in the engine and the diatinctive door insides with stiching along the center about 3" wide with the door opening lever in the center of the stiching.

About famous people buying cars there---I read that Britney's was a Vintage--and may I add I don't give a s&%t what that goofball drives. I'm sure I have higher technical standards than her---plus I bet she only drove it once for a photo op.

Automotive Legends is atill scum in my book and hurt their reputation with me for a stupid $10 hubcap they should have re[placed because it was rusted with screwdriver marks wghere it had been removed several times. It arrived this way on a new AL car I bought with 700 miles on it from a nice man in Louisana.---Jack
