Oh yeah? New Jersey the GARDEN State??

Well, since I finished trailering Pearl through that "garden", it's taken me a couple of days of elbow grease and LOTS of McGuire's rubbing compound and polishing liquid to get the gritty-feeling scum off her paint from that trip. The paint felt fine when I left South Carolina, too...glad it's finally coming around.

I've heard that parts of New Jersey are quite beautiful, but none of that lies along the "New Jersey Turnpike". The absolute worse gas/rest area we stopped at was in New Jersey I-95.

Sorry, you "Jersey folks". Rhode Island has Central City (and a big part of Pawtucket), and Jersey has their Turnpike.

Ebay, will have to end it. He emailed me back and said the following

Dear stevenorkathy,

You asked:
"I hate to be the one who breaks this to you, but that is basically a replica of a 1957 speedster....most likely built by Vintage Speedsters in Southern California....you are going to have to change your add and start over...you can't pretend this is a real one...no one in the market for these cars will believe it.

THANK YOU FOR THE INFO. I HAD MY DOUBTS AND AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO AUTHENTICATE IT ONE WAY OR THE OTHER FOR ME.

He has since answered and posted 6 other questions without mentioning a word...he is also be very careful about how he says things....he may be an honest guy just hoping it is a real one, but come on, would he just throw it on ebay without finding out what it might be worth?
97.4 cents a litre here CDN. OK here is the calc.

97.4 Cents cdn = 79 Cents a litre us

3.785 Litre = 1 US gallon

so, here the price is 79 us x 3.785 l = $2.99 usd a Gallon

Phew, can't you change to Litres?

In the UK it's about 96 pence a litre which is $1.80 a litre again x 3.785 makes it, $6.83 a gallon. So lets complain but remember we've got it good compared to Europe where gas = taxation and has always been high. Be careful this is coming our way.

I must add my 2 cents on Jersey...I wrote a travel book on New Jersey (I've heard all the jokes already, so don't bother) called New Jersey: An Explorer's Guide, which will be at a bookstore near you in June. The Garden State gets a bum rap because of the Turnpike, it's actually quite beautiful in many places, including many country roads perfect for Speedsta's.

Yeah, it seems like our illustrious US Interstate Highway System went out of it's way to go through the worst parts of each city and state it could find.

After driving the NJ Turnpike for years and wondering how people could live there, I finally got out to Bedminster, NJ, to AT&T, and also to whatever town UPS has their headquarters in, and I found that LOTS of NJ is REALLY NICE!!! Sure was a surprise to me.
I used to travel a lot, and most cities in the US and Canada have really nice airports - even Newark International is pretty nice, now that they've spent the last 25 years re-doing it (constantly).

THEN, I returned to Boston's, Logan airport and all that construction of "the BIG DIG" |>(. Boston's Logan Airport has to be about the least attractive airport in North America. Everything closes at 8pm, the roadways to/from the airport changed almost daily during the Dig construction for 20 years, it's hot in the Summer and cold in the Winter and dirty year-round. People go to Orlando on Vacation and arrive at a veritable Oasis of gardens, lakes, fountains and greenery. Then they get back to Boston and are greeted with gray - everything's gray, even the complexions of the people!!

I-95 through Providence, RI, goes through the worst part of the city, too. Go three miles either side and it's beautiful, but from I-95 it looks pretty grusome.
Hey guys...how did this post go from "fraud alert" to the price of gas per US gallon?...personally I think it should cost $50.00 per US gallon so everyone would stop bitching about the price and finally figure it's time to just anex all the "Arabic" countries along with any/all other "oil production" so called countries and end the discussion...period!...almost forgot...nuke germany and france while we're busy drawing everyone's attention toward the towel-heads and their rolls-royces...who knows...could be fun?...second thought, just nuke france...I still like German beer...how's this for "getting off the subject"...hehe!

eat more haggis!...help support Scotland's economy!
"Then they get back to Boston and are greeted with gray - everything's gray, even the complexions of the people!!"

You're right! Isn't that weird?

I was born and raised (for a time) in South Boston, where everyone was bright red and freckled. Even as kids, we noticed that one you crossed the bridge, once you passed the Edison plant, things began to lose their color.

Weird . . . especially the people . . . kinda gray.

You're right ! !
Well here is Ebays take on the add? Oh and they won't tell you this, but I'm pretty sure they caught him bidding on his own item? LOL

Playing dumb, maybe. If he was, I am sure he was still hoping the bidding would grow and have an out when the sale went through as to the authenticity of the car,.."don't know for sure".

It is kind of like the,.." selling for a friend so I know nothing about this item." "found in a box of junk that I bought"...etc.
