Deane:

Most of the people on here who have installed front anti-sway bars have put in the Sway-Away version. BOTH the Sway-away AND the stock VW front anti-sway bar attach to the lower trailing arms and have no direct attachment to the frame.

Some people with VS's are running a stock VW Beetle front sway bar, only on a Speedster they install them upside down so they clear the pan and torsion bar tubes on the lower car.

Others, like me, are running the Sway-Away, which clamps to the lower trailing arms the same as a stock bar, although on some cars the front bumper mounts have to be modified slightly to make everything fit (usually, CMC's).

Look in the photos section of this site and check out either "greg" or "1fastkid". Both of those guys have pictures of their bars installed, and 1fastkid (Glenn Pablo) has a great shot of the entire bare showing the mounting clamps.

Good luck.....Gordon
Glenn; we have exactly the same setup (brakes and all) in our car. I guess the difference lies in the way your front bumper is attached to your chassis?.....

George; with respect to the Sway-a-way , they can be found in almost every VW shop and run around $45 to $50 including the urethane bushings. The clamp set (highly recommended) is extra. I got mine as supplied by Bugpack. Check the vendor ads in Hot VW's or VW Trends and you'll find them everywhere.
