This is a true story and might have happened to other people over the years in different types of cars. The speedster I was driving needed gas so I got gas. I was borrowing it and I didn’t fully latched the front hood. I was blessed and lucky on the interstate it blew up and  hit the car behind me.  It  damage to the car behind me but it could’ve been a real disaster because it was on a busy expressway in Phoenix.

I retrieved a hood and there was no complications with the car the hood hit thank goodness just some body  work.

The experts and talented people in Scottsdale, Vintage Motorcar, came Up with an excellent idea of having a kill switch.  Simple,  it’s a small little button that has to be pushed in all the way because the hood is shut fully. It will not start unless the hood is fully closed.

Has anybody ever tried this?

I Would suggest it if other people borrow your car and put gas in it .

I have a VS from AZ..It has the kill switch mentioned above..The following has happened to me twice:  after closing the hood from filling gas I started the car..pulled away, drove over a small bump in the road and the car immdiately died. pulled over..The hood I guess was not completly shut after pumping gas and the bump in the road jiggled it enough to make the kill switch activate.  Moral of the story for me: alway double check the hood after pumping gas before pulling away
