If Tom's deal doesn't make it, you can also look for seats from a Mazda Miata or a Porsche 914 - both will fit the narrow seat wells in a CMC.

I shipped a pair of 914 seats in a medium wardrobe box from Massachusetts to Galveston, TX and the shipping cost about $300 - just so you know.  W. VA to TN would probably be half that.

There are two methods of cutting down a Miata bar to be centered on the seat backs.

1) David's way is to cut a section out , re-weld it shaping, grinding and polishing the stainless so the seam cannot be seen and looks great!

2) Home shop method is to do a 3" section cut out using an electric band saw to get an exact straight cut then slightly taper the two edges. Make a 4" long insert sleeve to slide into the bar, ( exhaust pipe sleeve will suffice) drill a 1/2" hole in the underside of each bar section, slid the all together positioning and marking it with a grease pen then plug weld it.

Well that's just great.

Now I hafta figure out how to put speakers (3 you say?) in MY seats, too.

I shoulda bought used Japanese seats instead of Italian ones and gotten good ones.

How come Ricardo Montalban never talked about Corinthian Speakers?

And, Oh!  Dr. Clock - It fit back in!  (Secret, coded message to the Intergalactic Headquarters of Merklin Motorsports and Lawn Mower Repair).

Pics of my early Miata seats in my CMC. Bought at junk yard for $70.  3 speakers in each seat.  Freshly recovered.  Very comfortable.  Fit well.

3 speakers in each seat?  I've replaced the headrest speakers in a Miata's seat and could only find two.  Where was the third?

On the Miata forum I frequent they call that styled roll bar a mouse trap.
