I agree with Bill; it's a bit on the pricey side, but the black wrap looks cool.

Alan's custom #36 was on Samba for $23k but with really top notch features.  Shouldn't a '59 have windup windows?  I can see calling replica with bee hive tail lights a '55 or '56 - but all others with slant eyes are '57 replicas.  A '59 would be a Convertible D with wind up windows -- unless, I guess, it was on a '59 VW chassis.

The engine compartment needs to be sealed off from the exhaust.

The flat black vinyl wrap throws me a bit as to if there is a market for that option vs gel coat or a quality paint finish. With respect you are at least $10K north of an actual selling price. To compare this one I did brought $22k

Cool looking car, but considering the age of that CMC (manufacturer), needs proper engine compartment seals, convertible top & hardware (missing?) IMHO a more realistic asking price would be around $17-18K.

BTW - whoever did the wrap did a pretty nice job of it!

If you are going to trouble of wrapping a car at least go with exotic design.  I'd still like to do a Janis Joplin tribute car.

I agree Wolfgang. I had talked to Desi about wrapping mine in snake skin!!  Jim is correct whoever did the wrap on the black speedster did a great job.

I have never seen a car that didn't look good with mini-lites! or the replica thereof.

Would it be safer to run your fuel lines on the front of the shroud? ie On the firewall?

At the very least, running them along the back of the shroud would give the  engine compartment a 'cleaner' look.

I have spoken with My Father in Law and he has dropped the price to 20k

He also added that the motor has less then 1000 miles since rebuild

- He had a shop remove all convertible hardware and Front & Rear windows when they performed the new upholstery.

The vehicle wrap cost 2800.00 for those who asked.

Aaron- Is it possible to find out- stock size or bigger valves in the heads? Is there extra porting work? What camshaft/rocker combo? Compression ratio? What exhaust is on it and tubing size? How high does it rev to with power in 3rd gear?

Still way pricey....
