Do the cut outs on the guards match the profiles of the fiberglass bumpers? I've had a few sets of guards and found that the cut outs are made to fit OEM steel bumpers on the original cars, and not for replicas.
Yep
Fits fiberglass replicas
I just removed them from my new Vintage Motorcar build.

Here's why I asked about the fit. As you can see in the photo, the cut out on the guard doesn't match the bumper. I've ordered, and returned, two sets--all the same.

A lot of the ones I've seen have had a small rubber seal that probably helps hide the gaps.
They all come with rudder trim. Mine did, too. But it was never enough to fill in the gaps. Frustrating.
Pic from vintage speedster website...
On my CMC I used a flattened piece of rubber tubing between the guard and bumper. That filled the gap better than a flat rubber piece.
The replica ones are polished aluminum so they could be Dremel'ed for a closer fit. I added the rubber gasket on mine - CMC's didn't come with rubber at all. There is a left and right side too with a slightly different profile.
Tried using the Dremel grinder to get a perfect fit and gave up. Got as close as I could, then used a high-building filler to do the rest. Only problem is they are no longer just aluminum, so they now have to be painted. Or, as I did, have them "chrome" coated using a process form Futurechrome. Dulled down it looks like polished aluminum
