These "Hexseals" have been around awhile-usually in the form of a Mil-spec p/n. These people make good stuff and, while not the cheapest, are recommended for "fuel-related" applications. Read the web-site's "applications/notes" for info. Available thru high-end racing stores, aircraft suppliers, specialty hdwre. Fyi: seal-rivets are out there as well.

I would suggest using only dry type gaskets. If memory serves (it more frequently doesn't lately) I used a silicone based adhesive sealer on a boat gas tank once. The gas pretty much turned the silicone into jelly and proceeded to plug up the entire fuel hose. The in-lilne gas filter saved the engine.
