I'm getting close to putting my speedster on the road. I was in the process of installing the gas tank and noticed that the short piece of steel fuel line that suck out of the bottom wobbled. I tried tightening the nut and it did nothing. The previous owner had installed the line so I don't know how it's supposed to look when the nut is removed.
There is the short piece of fuel line with a solid washer attached to it. There is a black slightly hard gasket on the top side of the washer and a reddish quite hard gasket on the bottom side. I stuck an 'O' ring in on the bottom to take up some room but it still doesn't get solid. I also put some gas resistant sealer around it but I want to be 100% sure that it isn't going to leak.
Help!
Also does it matter how the sending unit is installed? I notice in some pictures of cars on this site that the connector tends to be at 10 or 11 o'clock. Mine is at 7 or 8 o'clock.
