The 'read' (VDO guage) for my fuel capacity has always been erratic...but at least reliably erratic.
Now it's stuck on full !!
I've checked the red and black wires on the tank mounted sender, and on the cockpit guage connection. These attachments are clean and secure...So, what's my problem?

I was excited about your show n'tell solution...until I scrolled down to your fiddling with the gauge itself!!!
You're really, really good with delicate complcated intricate stuff.
I'm now thinking that 'simplicity' if not satisfaction, is living with it stuck on full and relying on intuition as to when to gas up at the pump.
I've used one of these for years. A bit pricey but if you look around you might find one cheaper. It cuts the wiggles WAY down and as it doesn't reach the bottom of the tank, provides a bit of a reserve when reading nearly empty.
DAMMIT!! I found TWO of those things when I was cleaning out my Dad's garage last year and couldn't take the time (then) to see if they were any good or not, so I tossed them.
Always, always, always......just after something hits the trash heap, someone needs one!
