Over this past weekend, the Bobby Rahal Inaugural Historic Races were held at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Il. I attended on Sunday with my Beck Speedster and had a great time. It was partially sponsored by Napleton Porsche and I wondered how the Speedster would be accepted. It was incredible! The Porsche guys I talked to went ga-ga over the car. I stood off to the side and watched as many people had their pics taken in front of the car, in the parking lot and in the paddock area. Most of the people knew it was a replica, but they just gushed over it.
Then they announced that you could take your car out for touring laps for $35.00. Wow! I was amazed at how well the Beck handled
even with the cheap Kumhos that come standard. I just had a great time.
Attached is a pic of my buddy in the Speedster in the paddock area.

Woo-HOO! That's what it's all about!
You're not a Kumho fan? I've got 'em on my car, and they're doing okay by me. "A" ratings across the board, especially for as inexpensive as they were. I drive HARD, and thought I'd replace them at the first opportunity, but they're doing great.
Knocking on wood as I type. Better pack my jack.
Mike,

Sounds like fun, post the event next time or send me PM next time you are out and about. My car should arrive in about one week. I will post some more pics later tonight. Lucky you got out of the Biz, Friday at the office was crazy after the storm. One not so smart individual drove a loaner Benz into deep water near his home. The car stalled and he left it there just a few blocks from his home. Rather than push it to higher ground, he left it and called a tow service later. The dealer calls him the next day saying that the car is a total loss. I am sure that the dealer is over stating the damage, but who knows.
