The first post on garages got so much response I thought it would be neat to start a new string.

I don't have enough space for the garages I used to have - so a miniuture will have to do.

Working with a friend on a speedster late at night. Not the greatest experience, but close.

Is that a house or an light industrial factory unit with domestic pretensions?

Seriously, why would you need that much space? After putting in the 40th bedroom it would get v. boring. I'd have to start making up new uses for rooms;
(1) One childs playroom for each day of the week - with duplicate sets of toys (that way each toy room gets trashed once a week instead of daily).
(2) Live-in quarters for the in-laws, and their in-laws, and their inlaws... (actually scratch that one, I actually gagged at the thought of living with them).
(3) Pre-screening / cleaning room for car, dog, children, etc. - ensure that ALL the muck that is carried on them stays out (may come in handy in a few years when my daughters start dating).

Anybody have any others?

Jim.
The house has been under construction for a few years but not finished and put up for sale. They built a smaller version next door that is only about 1/2 the size. I'm not sure of the actual size for the big house, and it looks like a regular single family dwelling from the front. Judging from the nine 2 car garage doors on the side, I just estimated the length at about 700 feet and the width at 200 feet for a single floor area of 140,000 sq ft, and I assume that there are at least 2 floors for a total of about 280,000 sq ft. It does have it's own 3 phase electric distribution line that feeds electricity to it and based on my summer electric bill for a house that is 1/150 the size of this one, I estimate the monthly electric bill at $23,000.
To Simon and Brian's points, mine is sufficiently messy to feel comfortable, but this one is a lot cleaner than my last garage when I was building the Speedster. Although not as nice as my last place (which my son Chris now has) it is OK for general maintanence and little projects.

Got about the same set-up in South Carolina (and it's detached, there!), but it doesn't have any tools yet.
