Hi, my car is a 2010 speedster made by Vintage speedsters.

I'm after a gear shift gator to match my interior. I did email Vintage speedster but as my car was built a while ago the couldn't tell me anything about the colour, they asked if I could send them a piece of material .I'm afraid I cant without cutting up my car I said.

Just wondered if anyone has a spare gaiterporsche356_vintage_speedster_51 hopefully in the right colour or in a different colour so I maybe able to get one made.

I am in the United Kingdom

Thanks Darren

Hi Darren what colours your car,I’ve got a vintage speedster about the same age and I’m also from the uk(stoke-on-trent) got my gaiter from vintage speedsters before they moved from California to Arizona, mine was a light tan leather one and I am really pleased with it. Got it delivered to a hotel my mrs was visiting in Florida and it saved me the customs charge

David, I know the new guy Matt who took over from Justin seem to be a lot more service-oriented toward his customers.

But also know that Greg Leach moved into the old Vintage Speedsters location and hired all of Kirk's guys. I'll say that again, he hired all of Kirk's guys. What a great move for all involved when Justin left them all high and dry. He builds Speedsters, pre-A bent-window coupes, and cut his teeth on Spyders for over 25 years.

I'm biased, but that's who I'd do business with. And have twice, I'm on my second Spyder from him. He's continued Kirk's tradition, but has stepped it up a few notches.

Cheers.

Those shifter boots are dead easy to make, Darren. Any decent seamstress should be able to make one for you. You could ( I did ) make a pattern out of stiff cloth ( felt or something ? ) turn it inside out and put a hem around the top, around the bottom and the joint seam. SEM upholstery paint is very good and will cover almost anything. Several attempts at the finished shape may be necessary to get what you want.

I noticed the install technique on my IM when I made a new boot and it was finally installed while turned inside out. The boot was installed upside down over the shift lever, a zip tie was wrapped around the top neck near the upper end of the lever and tightened then the rest of the boot was slowly turned down over itself and finally the skirt of the whole thing was fastened down to the carpet in various spots with glue.
