Gene Berg Enterprises shop tour
A couple of racers wander around the shop and warehouse looking at all the products GBE makes and stocks- lots of cool stuff, a lot of it they originated and made first.

His name is really Lizard? I don't believe that's on his birth certificate - Yoda.
WOW - made in USA stuff. Old school warehouse.
Fun video. It's nice to see where some of the stuff in my engine came from. I do have to say I got a little disoriented going through the video. I can imagine being a new guy and walking back there with someone and saying "Hmmm, I know it's around here somewhere."
Yummm - need to order the cup cakes. I was waiting on the guest to put part back in the wrong place. Hate buying PVC fitting in Lowes as they are always mixed into the wrong bins.
The place looks disorganized. Their website is atrocious. GBE could be a much bigger player in the VW game if they had better leadership. This is coming from a customer since the late 1980’s.
.
This explains so much.
Looks like they've got all the parts for five-speed kits scattered around the shop on a dozen different shelves. It just takes six months to find them.
.
The parts room looks fairly organized, but the shop is a MESS!

I've been a customer for a long time as well and I couldn't agree more! That website design is over 20 years old (I'd like to say 25+ but I don't know if they've been online that long?) and yeah, not the most user friendly. A friend knows a couple of the Berg boys (and a number of people big in the VW scene in southern California) and to be honest, the things I've heard- I'm surprised they're still operating. The place really hasn't been the same since Gene died (1995 or '96?).
Yeah, their website does stink. Major overhaul needed!
