Awwww.... Yeah, I could like that.
I owned a 1959 190SL in 1972. It was as nice as this car seems to be. $1,300.00. I sold it for $3,000 and thought I was making BIG money. What an investment that would have been today.
A gentleman's conveyance is a /2 BMW motorcycle. A 190sl , today, would require that Esquire be included in your name.
I'd love to know more about that teardrop. Like, did Mercedes make those?
Like the use of MB fenders and rear bumper!
A fellow SOCer had a red Speedster kind-of tear drop at Carlisle a few years back (2011 photos) - always thought it was super cool. Bet you wouldn't know it was there pulling it down the road.
Ha I see the Hoopty parted to left of it #3 and my 4Runner pulling Schu's MGTD in background #1 so must have been in lull in the dark clouds the year!

Here's one on older Miata NC -
LOVE the MB trailer (and the Speedster one)

It looks to have a MB badge on the rear of the trailer, so it's possible.
The MB trailer was home built by a very skilled person. Having built one teardrop and restored an original 1955 Benroy teardrop, I can recognize the different plans based models / variations pretty well.
Someone did an awesome job on the MB unit.
How do you get into the red Speedies trailer?

Will you look at that!?

Very carefully
Bidding so far is temptingly low.
Such an awkward yet attractive conveyance.

There's a latch below the license plate light. I'm betting you turn it, then the whole body tilts up.
Those guys in the video are the same two that show up at the Carlisle Show Field every year, with a knapsack the weights as much as their combined weights talking your ear off as you pray that someone from the group will make eye contact with you instantly knowing that you need to be extricated from this . ...…..Ain't that the truth?

Yup, you turn the latch under the license plate, then lift slightly until the pressure struts take over and lift it up for you. That trailer, unloaded, weighs about 600 lbs. IIRC, but it just looks so cool....... It is made of a wood frame and a fiberglass body.
We’ve had a number of trailers at Carlisle over the years, most often little trailers made for towing behind motorcycles, and they make a lot of sense, given how little storage space we have in our little cars.
Any more pictures of the red one - maybe opened? I took the ones above at a 2011 Carlisle event but never saw it open --- expecting a keg and BBQ cooker but I could be wrong. I added a hidden hitch to my '16 Miata. It has a smaller trunk and no storage behind the seats. Northern Tool has a $400 40x48" aluminum trailer to use as a base for a light weigh trailer (135 # shipping weight).
That little aluminum trailer looks like a nice basis for a project. Maybe start by welding those front seams.

Oh the back handle is not replaced for a KeG Tap?
Ooo, now there’s an idea!
