Pretty much PERFECT Porsche 356 speedometer, combination gauge, and case/face/glass/glass ring/needle/aluminum needle cap, chromed bezel, and gasket for the 356 tachometer. Add the mechanicals from any VDO 6,000 rpm tachometer and you'll be all set.
Like to get $400 for everything.

Nice set, howd you get the glass out? Is there any easier way to pry the ring off without risking the bezel? I have a set that needs to be cleaned inside/ maybe rebuilt
I bought these just as they are. There is a tool that most use for removing the bezels cleanly, probably an on-line search or a post on the 356 Registry will yield up the manufacture's name/address/etc.
Two questions.
what is the date on the backs?
is the tach electric or mechanical?
The date stamp on the speedometer has been worn away and is now unreadable.
The combination gauge has no stamp left, both the fuel and oil temp inserts are 12 volt units.
There are no internals at all inside the tach housing, as the ad suggests, install whatever YOU decide.

Keep in mind that if you choose to get the tach fixed , North Hollywood charges around $200 to replace the guts of one of the Chinese Repro tachs

Tommy's are the genuine article - German VDO. Suspect Hollywood only have access to genuine VDO parts. Ages ago TC/TeamEvil posted here that 914 Tach guts bolted right in - not sure if that includes the mechanical cable driven tach used in most 356s. They were cable driven like speedo but off the dizzy so, of course, we need the electric impuse version/conversion.
Just purchased a new set of three gauges from Seirra Madre in Pasadena.
they are new and a very reasonable price.
Bernie - but your's will be the Chinese copies - with questionable innards. Your tach and speedo could require a trip to Hollywood down the road a bit. The only repro's I'd trust are the new batch from Carey as SE - a reasonable $589 for set of 3.
Bernie, if your newly aquired Chinese speedo has a push button tripometer, then never, ever reset it unless the car is motionless...preferably on level ground, engine off, no wind, indirect sunlight, ...oh, and your fingers crossed!

Walt, being as I would really prefer that these go into a Speedster than a real 356, you can have everything for $350, I'll cover the shipping for you.
The gas gauge and oil temp gauge in the combination gauge are both 12 volt units so they'll work great in a Speedster.
The speedo works off of the driver's side front spindle just as it does on the VW so that's a plug and play as well.
The tach would be best if it used an aftermarket VDO or other make tach for the internals as you can buy electric three wire tachs that red-line at 6,000 pretty easily. The 914 and other Porsche tachs red-line much higher and would need re-calibration to work with a 356 face.
Not a big problem, but an added expense where as a basic 6,000 rpm electronic is cheap and easy to convert over to the 356 face. Two small screws hold the face to the mechanicals.
Perhaps the best idea would be to buy everything, sell the original 356 tach face and bezel on eBay and use the money for a reproduction Speedster tach that's already set up and ready to go.
