Believe that Chuck Martin's (or his wife's) from MD.
If that's the car from BHM, it's Chuck Martin's old car.
If that's Chuck's old coupe, I bet it has less than 5K miles on it and it needed all new engine seals??? WTF?
That is the Martin coupe

What did Gerds sell for?
What did Gerds sell for?
A Miata
Is that your zip code, GERD?
Classic Marty, I snorted coffee on that one!
Where does it say Chuck and Maggie's car needed new seals? It was pretty peppy for a 1776, Chuck let me drive it a bit at the Pumpkin run last year.
In the Samba ad. "Engine completely gone through with all new seals"
"completely gone through with new engine seals" ???
What T1 engine components are 'sealed' to each other? unless they're talking about new valve cover gaskets and intake manifold gaskets?
I suspect that the seller realizes that replica ownership is a small enough community that it's very likely there are interested people who just might be familiar with the Martin's very recent sale of that coupe at a whole lot less than what's being asked for it now...but proclaiming a spurious expense and effort of having "gone over" and resealing the entire engine justifies that elevated 'flipping' price.
Just my 2 (incredulous) cents.
Well, there are push rod seals and the engine seal behind the flywheel, also a seal on the trans output shaft.
And there are seals under the oil cooler.
I was thinking the oil screen plate gaskets and the copper washers.
NOPE NOT MY ZIP CODE. BUT VINCE FOR A WEEK WAS THROWN IN ON THE DEAL.
$28,500 IS WHAT I SOLD IT FOR. MINE HAD A 2332 AND WAS FULLY SORTED OUT.
Can't wait to see the next one.
