German Square Weave

Does anyone know who has the best deal on German square weave carpet set. I 've seen it advertised in Tweeks for about $600. Seems pretty fair. Any input is appreciates. Thanks-Chris

Have you checked with Sewfine in Calif.
I don't know if they have a carpet kit, but they do custom work. They'd probably make some if you sent them a pattern.

hey Chris, $600- spinds pretty fair, Henry wants $890-, and VS has a close version of square weave for $400-, but let us know if you found any more comparable becuase I was just about to order two sets, red and tan.

I looked at Klasse 356 catalog today. They have the carpet listed at $550. I haven't spoken with anyone yet so I cannot confirm the price. The website is www.klasse356.com and they are out of Allentown,PA. I was wondering as well, I wanted to put in the rubber mats as well. Do I have to order the tunnel mats (Porsche specific), or can I use the rubber floor mats from the older Beetles? Thanks-Chris

I just checked my Porsche tunnel mat and it isn't even close to the Beetle pan. I checked the Porsche floor mats a long while ago and they didn't fit the Beetle pan either. The outside shape is far different and the area where the pedal boards fit is more like an early Saab than a Beetle.

Good news! You can get away with Beetle (cheap) items and still keep the original 356 look!

A suggestion: if fitting square weave carpet don't EVER get it wet; you'll regret it.

TC, what kind of beetle stuff do you mean, a carpet kit? I wish, I know they're a lot cheaper, I often wondered if they worked or not but the rear surround area in a speedster seems like it would be a problem to fit
