Just bought Miata Seats...so comfortable! but I am afraid it is going to put my head in roof territory. Looks like a few little cuts and patching in a pan based flooring in the back might help me lower them all the way to the floor. Any comments/suggestion about this plan?

What do they have for seat glides on the bottom, and do those glides elevate the whole seat up 3"-4"?
If so, remove the glides and install a pair of these from Speedway Motors (made for Hot Rods but they worked very well with my new seats).

They get the seat bottoms about 1-1/8" up off the floor....about as low as you're gonna get.
BTW: Those glides are pretty similar to what Porsche used on my old 914 seats.
Gordon, have you ever seen these with a tilt mechanism? I mean one that can allow the front thigh to be supported. Ray
The only thing that would come close to that is (a.) 8-way power seats (I've heard that Volvo seats will fit an IM or Beck, not a VS/CMC) or:
(b.) Using the glide/tilt mechanism from a 914, which tilts the entire seat as a unit to provide back recline while elevating the forward seat lip at the same time (kind-of like a rocking chair with specific tilt locations).
One way to get a lower seat is to perform a 'foamectomy'.
This has been done by a number of Miata owners who wanted to lower their seat.
Here's a link to the procedure:
