What have you guys done to get your speedster that little more "correct" than others? Now I know that tastes may vary, but I'm a vintage nutter and I've now started getting to the nitty gritty when it comes to badges/ trim and other items.

But how far have you guys gone to get that period look?

I'm looking for ideas and pictures just aren't cutting it anymore.

Now the other question that I have is the chrome trim that fits at the base of the windscreen on OG porsches, has anyone replicated this to work on a replica? I was looking at my car the other night and the rubber trim is just missing something.

Gary,
I like the idea of replicating the original as closely as possible. It is fun seeing what "details" I can come up with. I have made my engine look original and the same with the interior. I even have original VIN and color plates inside the door. Check out my radio, too. Contact me if you are looking for ideas.

Happy Trails,
Dusty and the Lovely Miss Sharon

First off, check here:
http://356registry.com/forum/album.php

Loads of images of various members cars covering all models and years within the 356 run. Many changes between the Pre-A and 356SC but that just means lots of details to choose from. Your Speedster would fall within the 356A production run, although certain trim details and dashboard elements from later years would work out well.

Hi Dusty

I like what you've created with your speedster. I've already been shopping through the Klasse356 manual and bought the tags that still have to actually be put on the car. The thing is, shopping there for a host of small little things can quickly add up. But I try to order there at least once a month.

The engine bay looks great, keep an eye on what we're going to do with a 914 motor in the next few months. Been an on-going project of ours, but should start looking like something in the not too distant future.

I guess the name of the game is to pretty much make a list of what I want and just bite the bullet and do it.

We're going for something similar with the radio, but I've decided already that I want and Ipod in the car with no radio, speakers visible at all.

Thanks.

HOLY CRAP the 356talk website is great, howcome I've missed it???
