Business is business, just because one designs cars and tanks for a Nazi, doesn't necessarily make one a Nazi.

Porsche designed the Volkswagen bug for Hitler. Later, when he wanted to put the 356 into production, he came to the states and talked to Ford about his assembly line idea. Then every one thought Ford was a Nazi.

People are idiots.

If Porsche was in fact a Nazi, then he's my one and only favorite Nazi.

In depth clarification:

Ferdinand (the father) an Austrian,  did not belong to the Nazi party. But it was the Third Reich that was handing out the engineering contracts which he was after.

Ferry by contrast was a very early Nazi... and enthusiastic one at that.

Apologist's would have us believe that his party membership wasn't a political/policy endorsement, but rather to facilitate priority consideration when the contracts were handed out. He was released from French imprisonment on Ferdinand's bogus testimony that his son was but a 'drawing board' engineer and had no factory/production responsibilities...Far from the truth... and the French knew it. Ferry's release was predicated on his agreement to do engineering design work for Peugot as retribution.
