This Volvo wagon looks completely stock. Under the hood is a 5.8 supercharged ford

motor. Only a car nut would know something was up by looking under the hood, under

the car, or at the exhaust pipe. I took a short ride on the highway, and was "quite impressed. The car apparently was built for Paul Newman, but ended up with Letterman.

We cleaned it up, and it's on it's way to california to be auctioned off by Newmans daughter

for charity. The other car is a 09 Turbo, that had the worst bodywork and paint, that I

have ever seen.

I think this is the one that was on t.v.

But as far as Carini is concerned he never owned

this one, but I heard Newman may have had more

than one. I'll find out tomorrow, the car is being picked

up. Rumor has it that this thing is over 500 h.p.

It sure felt like it going through the gears. You could

make the tires groan a little without breaking them loose.

Newman had two built.  A gray one for himself that was barely finished before he died, and that red-ish one for David Letterman, who rarely drove it (it terrified him with it's excessive Power). Those two were supposed to be twin-turbo V8 cars with GOBS of torque.  I think they were built at a shop up in Maine but not sure.

Newman had an earlier version Volvo wagon with a Ford V-8 and transmission, EFI but no turbo, that could be regularly seen in New England.  Don't know what happened to that one.
