Godzila in sheeps clothing

I've read the story of that car, and how Paul commissioned it to be built.

Quite the mover, it is.

Neat sleepers have always been cool. Never had enough dough to build one up but always thought about how much fun they'd be at a light beside those "noisy" little cars.

I thought Wayne Carini bought this car?  Saw it sometime ago on TV.  A fellow I worked with years back had a 90's something Volvo Turbo wagon, it moved pretty good.

I think this is the one that was on t.v.

But as far as Carini is concerned he never owned

this one, but I heard Newman may have had more

than one. I'll find out tomorrow, the car is being picked

up. Rumor has it that this thing is over 500 h.p.

It sure felt like it going through the gears. You could

make the tires groan a little without breaking them loose.

Newman had two built.  A gray one for himself that was barely finished before he died, and that red-ish one for David Letterman, who rarely drove it (it terrified him with it's excessive Power). Those two were supposed to be twin-turbo V8 cars with GOBS of torque.  I think they were built at a shop up in Maine but not sure.

Newman had an earlier version Volvo wagon with a Ford V-8 and transmission, EFI but no turbo, that could be regularly seen in New England.  Don't know what happened to that one.

No problem,  just trying to look thru these cobwebbed eyes.

Gordon,  you are on to something here. AIR, I think the car in Carini's show was blue/silver.

It's one of those afternoon shows, I take my nap by.

I think you're right, there is a blue one around.

And by the way, I'm going to be 64 next month, when

I talk about groaning tires, it might be coming from me.

I'm starting to drive like an old woman!

This car is supercharged, and I can see why Letterman was afraid of it.

Although, it was fairly well behaved, and could easily be an everyday 

driver. I guess if you can afford to own one, the 2 miles per gallon

wouldn't be an issue.

Having owned a very modified car (V8 powered Mazda Miata) I smiled when Dave talked about the car breaking down, overheating, and the hot floorboards.

I experienced all three of those things too.

That was the car.
