I can see why nobody tracks their car with a wooden steering wheel.

For the street it's perfect.

Race car drivers also wear gloves.

A new Nardi will retail for around $350.00 but you can find them here, on the Samba or Ebay for $150.00. Hell, Kirk will probably change out your banjo for a Nardi as a straight trade.

Of course, you could always contract Mike Lempert to make you a beautiful custom wheel. Prepare to wait awhile.

Like Terry said, Kirk might even change it out for free.  The banjo you have might even be a little more expensive than the Nardi.  Be aware that the horn button in the picture is custom and does not come with the Nardi.  I don't think Vintage sells them, but I bought one from JPS a long time ago.

If Kirk does swap it out for you, the second picture is what the horn button will look like.

I have one like that, but that is Johns Beck in the picture.  Try JPS or Fibersteel.  Otherwise I don't know where you can get one.  That Classico place looks to be pretty expensive and I didn't see any prices posted.

I'm just comparing the two side by side and mine is a smidgen darker than yours. Only reason I noticed is that this is the first time that I see a beige interior with this colour and it doesn't look too bad. I wanted off white and got what I currently have. But to respray the car is a quick job and minor money outlay in my country.

btw........keep the banjo.........so much cooler than a nardi.

i haven't seen my car in person yet so i don't know how accurate the pictures are in terms of the color. i will take lots of pictures when i pick it up on tuesday. the interior is a darker 'buck' color. i know because i picked it out in person. the color i wanted is whatever this color is http://www.sunsetclassics.com/...che-912/bodygallery/ if having it painted again isn't a big deal i will probably change the color when it starts to show some wear or when i get bored.

i think i will just never know what that color is officially called unless i talk to someone who actually worked in the factory painting porsches during those years. i looked at sooo many champagne yellow porsches, including pictures that kirk sent me of cars painted champagne yellow. most are this paler color:

it's just not the same as the color of that 912.

i showed kirk at VS the pictures of the 912 and he was certain that it was champagne yellow. i am certain that it is not. i suggested that maybe that color is called sahara beige or sand beige. i received pictures of my car in that cream color. i like the cream more than i like the champagne yellow so it's not a complete wash.
