Well my day started pretty good. Found a mechanic who I trust and who fixed many of the items on my speedster that have been causing some issues. CSE Automotive in Oreland, PA just north of Philadelphia. They were very knowledgeable about my engine and the local SCCA chapter use them as well. Had a company out of North Carolina Paramount Auto Classics who contacted very interested in the car. They knew it is a 2005 and has a few chips and scratches. They sent someone up who looked the car over and then dropped the price another $3000 saying that it needed more work. Bunch of crap. Said they have been buying numerous Becks in better condition for $20,000. Once bitten I suppose but have to get in touch with others who I put off thinking I had a deal made.

Sorry for the rant just wanted to blow off some steam....

Selling my cars over the years seem to always be depressing. Not so much that you are loosing a friend but the rejection you feel when you been offered a low ball price or shined on by someone you thought was seriously interested. With my car, which sold this month, the buyer never blinked an eye. He wanted it and we agreed on a price in about one minute. He wrote me a deposit check for $5K. There are people out there who want your car. You just have to find each other..........Bruce

Agreed. I have bought and sold cars over the years as well. This one is a little more emotional. Will miss taking her out and the attention she gets wherever she goes. Health issues are dictating a change.

I have a few other good leads that I am in touch with. Just angry I held them off waiting for these guys. One of their comments, I think they were stretching, is that they needed to replace the carpeting because of the wear through at the gas pedal. I pointed out it was dirt from the side of shoes. Thanks for the words of wisdom. As with most things this too will pass.

It has been amazing. I get a low ball number every couple days, on guy wanted to pay full price but only if I gave him my PayPal account information including my password because he is stationed oversees,

We will see how tomorrow goes tomorrow. I have several return calls and emails out that I had put on hold. Thanks for all the confirmation that their a lot of asses out there and need to wait for a person of integrity.

Chris Radbill Auto in West Chester is most excellent (used to be a Beck Dealer)...just did $3k work on mine before shipping to Seattle....The guys at Beck referred me there.... I just bought a merlot 05/57 w/ 11k miles for $23.5k...from West Chester. Beck has 2 for sale for $37.  One guy just got $28 for a ratty Vintage  in Seattle. The Vintage cars seem to fetch up to $23 in Seattle. Clean Becks and Intermeccanica to about $34 in the Portland/Seattle area.

Have been thinking about that. Let them completely sort the car and then get a better price on it. I'll call them this week and discuss.

Tony---I believe you will do best this way.  Plus being able to adv it as fully sorted by Beck would be a huge plus.

On the carpet, I keep plastic sheeting over where my accelerator and that 2X4 area under the heater vent where feet rub.  I remove it for car shows. It makes a big difference in the condition of the carpet..  After the effort to replace the carpet I didn't want to go through that again.

Good luck with your sale---stick to your price.  There are so many shysters out there that if something is 25 cents they want it for a dime!  Send 'em on down the road.

Not to add anything constructive to this particular conversation but I, as the owner of a Beck Speedster, have noticed the price on the open market for used Becks in the last year or so has not been strong. This is not counting the Special Edition (Beck) website with used inventory.

Troy and others seem to be getting stronger money for used Vintages.

I realize that the level of bugs being worked out factors into the equation but even the Beck Speedsters on BAT have been really good deals relative to the original prices.
