Someone got a good deal on a decent car!
That wasn't the selling price. The auction was stopped because of another offer. I'm sure it went for a realistic price.

lucky buyer sold for $10K
It didn't go for 10k. The auction was ended when the last bid was 10k, that's why the price is crossed out. Another offer was accepted.

just to confirm I also contacted the owner and it did sell for $10K,clearly the best buy in quite a long time.
That was fast!
that wide body rear bumper looks like a parachute
Right, Paul! Maybe has the bumpers switched, front bumper on rear & vice versa!
good excuse to dump the bumpers and turn it into an outlaw.
The new seller did not take new pictures. Do this people actually think this car is a "This is a great looking kit car made by Custom Coachworks by Reutter Stuttgart?" Did you notice the gaps in the doors? I think that is a retro 70's 5mph rear bumper. This has to be a homemade kit.
Wide 5 lugs?
I love it. They don't have a clue what the Reutter badge means.
i just looked again - at first i thought it was a wide body rear bumper...
both those bumpers are correct but need to be remounted. front it too high. rear is too far from the body.
those look like IDF carbs, so i would be surprised if it was a stock 1600.
no engine sealing though (bad!), especially in Cali.
nice car. a steal at $10K. pretty good deal at $16K IMO.
That is a lot of positive rear wheel camber.
16k+/- seems like a fair price for a car which needs some basic sorting.
Best of luck to seller and buyer...
Ted
The obvious lack of knowledge on the part of seller and buyer is a bit scary. I believe most of us did a bit of research before joining the Madness. Since the seller was either stupid or deceptive make me question the validity of this entire deal. The visible condition of the engine speaks of many more than 14k miles. Look at the blue coil for instance. No side curtains? How about a top? No pictures of the top and the convertible cover does not appear to have a folded top under it. The quick cheap sale and then immediate re-listing is very suspicious. I would surmise someone tipped the seller to what he had and he faked a sale to re-list it. The pictures and incorrect description are the same. Give the lack of proper documentation for these vehicles it could be hot. Caveat emptor!
Well it sold. Great way to make $6,900. Buy it from New York and Sell it in New Jersey.
To the new buyer, hope to see you on this board.

Maybe the guy just saw a chance to buy low and sell high and couldn't care less about the hobby.
Too bad it wasn't one of us....
