GOOD NEWS

Ive been advised by Henry at IM that my chassis has been welded in the jig, finishing the welds, sanding, etc, will occur next week, and the body should be mated to to the chassis by the 15th of March. THIS IS EXCITING! We're on our way! Yippie!

Will Henry deliver it to you at Carlisle?

Thanks for all the good wishes. Its been awhile since I laid down my depsoite and got on line. But the wait will be worth it. I dont think the car would be ready for delivery ar Carlisle, but wouldn't that be great. Im hoping for June/ July. The speedster 6 build with the 3.2l, from what Henry tells me is a little more labor intensive, than his typical builds. I will keep you all posted as the photos arrive from the IM shop. Pinch ME!

Ron, I appreciate the thought. I see you live in the area, feel free to keep me updated. I would love to take delivery and attend the BBQ at the same time, but I really dont know if the timeframe for completion is realistic. I was hoping for Carlisle, which is a 2 hr drive from my home, but thats cutting it very close. Once Henry's troops march, the cars complete in 3 months on average. This build is a Porsche 6, which is a little more labor intensive, and Henry dosent feel comfortable giving me a firm date as yet. I completely understand. Im like a little kid, cant wait, and will enjoy seeing it come together in the digital world.

This is an exciting time for you and I know exactly how you feel. Our Roadster 6 is a few weeks ahead of your project and if all goes well, should be complete by the IM BBQ. That said, like you I will be patient to allow Henry and crew the opportunity to create the car of my dreams with the deadline being of less consequence. I appreciate the time and care they take to get it right and I rank quality and detail over a deadline any time.

Rick as you well know, this is the fun part. Henry and I have been having thinking about this build. Once you get into it, particularly when your going full bore Porsche engine, suspension, transaxel, your really get out of the box. Gauge clusters, trim, leather, lights, exhaust, everything gets Henry's attention. I think he gets off on building these "special" builds.

Okay you two, I'm getting SERIOUS speedster envy! Can't wait to see them done!

Thank you for your hospitality. I am giving serious consideration to taking delivery and driving the beast home. Ive never been cross country, but it would be nice to stop and smell it, not just drive through it. Time, family, work, limit my available time. Time to RETIRE!!!!!!!!!!!
