John!
I use www.bugcity.com
Located in Bristol, Connecticut, USA
Many NOS German ($$$) and Brazilian ($$) parts, lots of newer stuff of varying quality levels (all identified as such). I don't believe they sell EMPI parts (I've not seen any) but may have some of the older BugPack stuff of better quality. They are highly recommended by the New England VW clubs, too.
This is a mom and pop kind of store with a decent on-line ordering system and they ship UPS or FedEx (Maybe DHL, too). If you call them, you get a real person who knows VWs and parts, not a counter kid, so they can walk through part differences with you. If you email them it might take a bit longer (they give preference to the walk-in counter and stocking) but they will get back to you.
They ship world wide, but I can't estimate the shipping costs to you. I remember spending a lot of time, once, explaining to the airport inspectors just what they were and why the hell I was bringing two, very used, VW heater boxes with me in my checked baggage. Finally I got WiFi access and showed them photos of the build in progress and they finally believed my story. They weren't happy about it, but they let it go. They thought those things were some sort of weapon.
Bug City can ship to the closest UPS store in Florida to your friends and they can pick it up there. They might want to have a good photo/explanation for the airport TSA inspectors, especially if the stuff is going through the newer 3-D scanners.
