My 11 year old twins have ben so enthralled by the clips posted by Troy, Rich and Musbjim that they sprung for the newest version of the GoPro for me so that we can make "Speedy Flicks" as they call them.

First attempt will be at the Corn Daze meeting next week in Peoria.

I'll post what we get. You guys in attendance who have experience with GoPro, I'll need your help.

They got me the HD Hero2 Outdoor Edition and the GoPro Suction Cup and a 32gig card for starters.

Haven't cracked the box yet but I am stoked to get started with this thing.

Kitchen remodeling is slowing me down in the fun department. Today I am cutting in the ceiling paint in the front bath, kitchen and dining area and the garage entry. Don't know a time when I've had so much fun. (Right!)

Then it's rip out the old cabinets and run the gas line and the stove ventilation system. New stuff shows up next week.

I miss the Speedy, but I'll get in a drive to Lowe's later today.

MUSBJIM and I both use iMovie on our Macs.  I asked him what he used before I made my 30-minute video on the 2012 Rolex race at Daytona.  Great tool.

It takes a couple of days to learn what it can do, but there are a bunch of "how-to" videos to quickly teach you what you need to know.

It seamlessly integrates both stills and video from a number of different sources, has a bunch of animation effects for stills, like the "Ken Burns" effect of sliding across a still photo to simulate video), and it's easy to add soundtracks as either background or foreground tracks.  It also supports a number of different video formats.

I used mine on a kite skiing trip to Great Slave Lake this past March.  One thing, when you start it recording be sure its recording.  I got a fair amount of footage of crap I didn't want.  I was turning it off when I thought I was turning it on and vise versa.  Of course it was mounted at the top of my head and I was skiing at the time.  Still, a neat gadget.  For those of you who don't have one they have a daily give away on the Go Pro website that you can enter to win one of everything they sell.
