Sometimes we are lucky enough to go full circle in what we do .....
A couple of years ago, while working with "at risk" youth in a basic automotive skills vocational program, myself and a small group of kids built a Raby T-IV powered outlaw speedster that was featured at Carlisle '03. I left the program the following Fall and the car sat untouched and under a tarp at their Pennsylvania location with only 29 miles on the speedo. Posting a few pics in my files was what I thought would be, as close to owning this speedster.
Well, as of this past weekend, I am now a bit lighter in the coffers after aquiring the speedster, trailered in home and it now sits in my shop. It has a few odds and ends to take care of and then who knows, dispite my past track record of not being attached to any particular speedster I built for more than a few months, I may just hang onto this one !

Thanks for your compliments...I may have to change out to a high top version to fit my head under it! Some here called it right questioning the "why" of my bailing out of the two other speedster projects I had and I didn't want to say anything until it was a done deal. The polished stainless roll / show bar, is a one off a friend made up for this speedster.
Trent Eubanks a new member here, is the new parent of a red CMC that I recently sold him, it is now under construction at his home in Alabama. At the time I started to build this silver blue outlaw, I was unsure if this look would work on a speedster build but, given the go ahead to do this one "my way" I did hence, the bit of old & new school street rod look.
My wife Kim always backs me 100% in the speedster builds (this is a good thing!)Kim gets the kudos for the color scheme because I constantly manage to mix up my black and brown socks.
Jake Raby's Type IV engine is smooth and consistant throughout the entire power band .....it honks!
A number of items on the car need attention including re-aligning the StayFast top and making a set of "Margard" side curtains that'll fit.
As it stands now, unless someone happens along with a Hefty (no pun intended)bag of cashola, it will be at Carlisle.
After Carlisle, I'll then begin what is hopefully the last of the builds that I plan on doing for Al Shapiro in NJ, he's a great guy and one of "those" lurkers here "Hi Al". His speedster project is a Street Beasts that will arrive here a crate this March.
