Those are AWESOME! JPS did a Grey Carrera with those on it. I always looked at that car and thought it was the one of the best I've ever seen. Actually they're are the only driving lights I'd consider putting on my car.
Give up the skinny Gerd. Who did them? How much? Where can I get them? Can I do them myself?
They look great on your car Gerd!!!!

they are KC lights,
the gray carrera was John Leaders
I contacted John leader and he told me what to buy.
I had them shipped to JPS and they installed them.
the total cost including shipping was 204.44
the only difference was John Leader had the rear bodies painted and I went with the full chrome look. the headlights and parking lights are also going to be changed before I bring her home. I had a carrera deck lid and an oil cooler installed also. Also ordered carb covers from Beck and had them shipped to JPS. they are being painted the same color as the car.

would like to see rear deck lid!
Sweeeeet!! You planning on keeping it now?
I have the same carb covers and was intending to paint mine the same red as the car. I ended up going the lazy man's route and rattle-canned them gloss black. I'm using chrome bullet-headed nuts to hold 'em on. See pics. I may still go the red route with some artwork by Cory when he's back home.
Be sure you trial fit them before they're painted as you have to notch them to clear your carb linkage.

Former Member

Are you going to put the bumper back, or you are going without the bumper? Looks good. Are you still going to go for HID for your headlight?
Eddy

Gerd,
You are a true outlaw. You can blast down the road with about a million candlepower, you live in a rural area right!
Very nice. You keep it up and you won't be able to let yourself sell her.

Thanks Gerd.
If you could let me know what model KC light they are I'll look into a set. And I know I'm being a real pain in the ass, but could you take pic or two of how they're mounted? I know it involves getting under the car etc.... but I'm not quite sure what they're attached to. I'm sure I can figure something out and fab something up but seeing how John does it would sure help. No hurry though, I'm not gonna do anything tomorrow. Thanks again.

You're keeping the car. Anyone who puts this kind of money in their project is not contemplating a sale. It looks awesome. Can't wait to see it next month.

I bet Gerd starts going on midnight runs at Mulholland Dr with that lighting set up.
Did John have to drill holes to set in the lights? Like about 1-1/2" to 2"? That way they look sculpted into the body. I seem to remember seeing the mounting brackets coming out of the back of the fog lights.

I think these are the lights.

Not for the feint of heart, but ya gotta cut the right sized hole in the apron, fab up a mounting bracket and mount them from behind.

Aww, shucks, GERD.
Your new lights look really good. If I remember correctly, those driving torches are so powerful that when you flip 'em on, the car slows down a little (hard to overcome all those watts of illumination).
They're also handy for removing paint from the car immediately in front of you.

YIKES!!!
That's quality craftmanship there. There's no way I can do an install like that. I guess I'll have to shelve those until I do another "redo" down the road.
That is of course unless someone out there can convince me otherwise.

Mikey,
I would suspect its just a hole saw and some flexible trim material that covers the cut hole. Then rig up a mount on the inside.
Its all in the layout and cutting once. I also imagine it takes some large ones and guts to cut the holes.
You just have to find the diameter of the hole.

Yeah, I don't know Dave, that would require some HUGE ones to put a hole saw to that part of my car.
I'm all about throwing caution to the wind but it'd have to be a pretty basic install outside of the drilling holes for me in attempt it.

Don't worry about it, Mickey.
If you make a mistake, no worries.

Now THAT's a Hans device!
That has got to be one of the best pictures you ever posted Vince! My wife is gonna laugh her ass off when she sees it. That said I'll spare the long explanation to my little girls and just skip showing them a pic of Snow White riding in a "Daddy Car" as they call it.
Gerd, I'm gonna need a bigger Bra. Whenever I'm riding ol Debbie, the bugs really gather...

This was my Saturday.....defrocked Snow White, and then went to the Dick Dale concert that evening.....

Dick Dale was out for a while with cancer. I am glad to see he is back, he has been destroying my hearing for years. A true classic!
