I have also replaced the #65 park light bulb in the headlight housing for a " clear" amber bulb, when powered up the amber bulb reflects off the headlight.

I too have replaced the parking light bulb with a clear LED that lights amber.

I have no glass cover over my headlights because I have the grilles.  I bought but have not yet installed plastic pieces to go behind the grilles.  When I ordered them I was given the choice of clear or yellow.

Question for Michael McKelvey. When you say grilles you have, are you referring to jail bar grilles or the meshed style. I have the jail bar grill and running with no glass under them, because the glass doesn't fit. I'm interested in the plastic lens that you have if you are using in fact the jail bar grill.

I bought the plastic lenses from Prescott Phillips, prescott4thewin@gmail.com.

They were $125 a pair.

Before I discovered these I was going to try to make them myself.  I bought vacuum-forming equipment I have never used.

My car has the grilles, and no head light covers underneath.  I've driven it for six years with no problems.

I also have the orange LED lights in the turn signals - a lot more noticeable for safety.

I have had issues with bugs passing through the grilles and depositing themselves on my headlights.

Yep.  I just remove the grilles and clean the bugs off when I wash the car to get all the other bugs off.

Thank you Michael McKelvey. The original glass lens have never fit under the jail bar grill type guards. Yes, the bugs just splat on the inner glass, but within minutes the grills are off for inner glass cleaning. I've been running without outer glass for 3 years with no issue as long as I'm not driving in the rain. I can see the lamp housing rusting very quickly if kept wet for long periods of time. 

I have a little bit of rust right below the headlight and corrosion on the base of the parking light bulbs.

@Michael B (aka bluespeedster SoCal), do you have the special gaskets for use with these grilles?
