Mine weighs in at 1820 full tank of gas and a Porsche 915 5 speed trans. The weight split is about 59% rear and 41% front not bad for a rear engine car....
Not bad at all. Mine was weighed at Carlisle '09 (I believe) by Danny Pipperato, who brought scales. I was 1700 pounds with an almost full tank and a few tools. Distribution was spot on side to side with a 39/61 rear weight bias.
Lane - I've seen you tanked and you tend to fib a bit on how loaded you actually are.
David--you think just under 1800 lbs is too heavy??
David---very interesting. Lane is right---Danny P. spent a few hours
graciously weighing over 30 cars about 3 Carlisles ago.
My car was very close to yours at 1,763# with 46% in front and 54% in the rear. I was, as usual, loaded with parts and tools so I was heavier due to that.
That was before I switched the 1915 Type I for my Raby Type IV and added maybe 25-30#.
I have a set of race car scales in my shop... I went ahead and sucked it up... Yesterday I threw the Bayliner thickness CMC on the scales.... I was right at 1825.... 56% rear..... think it was around 1/2 tank of gas...
Not too heavy Ed....I just thought it might be more with the Soob stuff.
My CMC must have the "super-thick Bayliner" glass in it, 'cuz it weighed in at exactly 2,000 lbs. with Almost a full tank. Sure surprised me...
It's those heavy Chrysler seats, Gordon.
My scales are accurate, they are certified long acre scales. I put the spare tire, jack, 4 way, and road kit in and I am a few pounds over 1920 now. So in travel form, it's at 1925 call it.
my ride weighs 1740 lbs with a full tank
