I attended a local Hooters car show yesterday and drove off with a first place win in the import class . My car was up against a Ferrari 308 , Porsche 928, Porsche Carrera Turbo 911, Triumph Stag and a hand full of Tuner cars. That was a great feeling. It's amazing the question you get at car shows. The #1 question was "Is it real?" My come back was "its only your imagination". I think the flares were a dead give away. There were some individuals that were persistent did not let up. I would asked them to define "Real". Then I asked them if the Chevelle's and Camero's that were cloned as SS models were real? So the final reply was "my car is a modified Replica of a 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster." Of course there were a few asking if the car was a kit car .I told them I didn't have any instructions to build my car. So was it truly a kit? The custom frame and all the mod's weren't options. The fiberglass 32 Ford coupe down the ways apparently wasn't a kit. JPS, Vintage , and IM turn key cars are not kits. They are manufactured replicas. So overall there were a hand full of know-it-all's trying to address their expertise regarding my car. A majority of the onlookers commented on how cool it looked. It was a great day.

Congrats Joe. Your car is super. You are right about the know-it-alls though. Most get hung up on the kit car thing. I did have a pleasant encounter yesterday with a fellow that has a 63 super 90 coupe. His first comment was "this is not a reproduction is it? it looks too real" Made me feel pretty good. Next weekend he is going to take me out to his barn and show me his car which has been stored for the last 25 years. I can hardly wait.

Again your car is really really nice.
