Has anyone thought of installing a oil cooler and using it as a heating source. It wouldn't be any different than your typical anti freeze type system. You would have two coolers in series. The first one would be for your interior heat with a cockpit controlled blower . For the summer you have a duct that can be opened to remove the unwanted heat source.

Years back(appox 20) it used to be a kit that installed on the rear package tray(below the rear window). It had a blower attached to it.

The only issue, if I remember was rerouting it in the summer.

About 2yrs ago I spoke with a guy that was selling a Kelmark on Ebay. He had done this and he said he didnt have any problems with his homemade system. He said that he had to clean off his new oil cooler because the factory had sprayed the outside with a coat of oil.

Until he cleaned it his interior reeked of hot oil.
Joe, it happened to me completely by accident. It's mounted on the other side of my rear cockpit tins, aimed at my seat. I have it wired backward for summer use, but I'll reverse polarity for winter driving.
Not ideal for this time of year, but I think I'll run a vacuum cleaner hose into my coat this December!
Hey -- nice score on the 944 Turbo pieces, BTW!
WOO-HOO!

Joe,
I have discussed this with my better half (he's the fabricating half, I'm the idea half). When we put the 3.2 in the spyder we were going to mount a 2nd oil cooler under the steering rack and duct the air to our feet.

But the engine builder said the 3.2 would run cooler than the 3.0 so we didn't do this. Builder was right, the 3.2 does run cooler. After driving it over the mountains in April in the snow (going to Paso) I seriously reconsidered this.

It would work. Go for it!
